The Unlucky (diplomat) The other deva also watches Carmela with a strong interest. He wonders how the songstress plans on recruiting one of the Firstborn to their cause, and how if things go well, they may have another contact for their mission...

The Firstborn of the Gods
The elf is indeed still there, calmly sipping ale. When she notes Carmella looking at her, she lifts her head, tilting the wide-brimmed straw hat she wears back. "May I help you?" She gives each of the Devas a respectful nod.

The Pale Songstress
Carmella smiles slightlyas she locks eyes with the one she was certain was a first. "Oh no, good lady." She frowns slightly, and indicates the ale the elf is sipping. " It looks like you are the one that needs help."
She pulls out the fine, expensive bottle of wine that her former boss, bless his soul, had given to her for severence pay. With two quick motions, the bottle is open, and Carmella is pouring some of its contents into two crystal glasses that seem to of appeared from nowhere.
"Fine ladies like ourselves need to drink only the finest of wine, would you not agree?" Carmella smiles coyly as she slides one of the glasses over to the purple eyed first. She than takes a sip from her own glass, closing her eyes and savoring the flavor.

The Firstborn
The purple-eyed elf looks at the wine as it is poured, then at Carmella again. "Thank you." She taps the counter thoughtfully as the wine is poured, then lifts the glass to her nose, smelling it for a moment. "Hm. An odor I had never expected to smell again. You have given me a great gift."

The Pale Songstress
Carmella slowly opens her eyes, and glances at the other woman. "It is merely a glass of wine, sweet lady. . ." She places the application she had retrieved from the library and places it on the bar. " Now, knowledge. That is a greater gift by far."
She slides the application over to the elf with whom she was sharing wine, the way she does so makes her intent very clear, but also makes the need for silence, secrecy, clear as well.

The Firstborn of the Gods
The elf looks over the application, then rises to her feet. "Second floor, third room." She lifts her glass, taking a sip from it. "Come alone or with any associates you might have; I believe we may be able to make some sort of arrangement." She then simply vanishes.

The Wanderer
A frown of concern written on his face, the cream-skinned Deva steps up to the pale lady. "How did it go?" He asks, sounding unsure of what he just watched happen.

The Pale Songstress
Carmella drains her wine glass before responding to Desmond. "We have a meeting with her, in about five minutes. Second floor. Third room." She smiles into his cream colored eyes, and kisses his cheek softly. Her eyes than flicker over to Roland before she speaks to Desmond again. ". . You might want to make sure. . 'Roland' . . comes as well."
There was a hint of displeasure in her voice as she spoke Roland's name.
She slid off the barstool, and than quietly made her way up to the second floor.

The Firstborn of the Gods
When Carmella arrives at the room, she finds the door already open, with the purple-eyed elf sitting in a chair at the small table in the room. The elf nods to her, beckoning her - and any who went up the stairs with her - to enter.

The Wanderer
Smiling slightly as he touches his cheek briefly, 'Desmond' strides across the common room of the Pale Platypus to 'Roland's' Side.
"We have a meeting with the woman," He tells his companion, "Second floor, third room." Grinning, the Deva heads up the stairs to the room in question.
He steps in just behind Carmella, warm smile written on his cream-colored face.

The Unlucky (diplomat) His face neutral, the other deva follows his companion upstairs, closing the door behind him, though he leans against the door frame.

The Pale Songstress
Carmella bows to the purple-eyed First when she hears 'Roland' shut the door. "Forgive me for not introducing myself soon, I am Carmella Snow. A songstress of some renown, though I am pale in comparison to you, sweet lady."
A smile plays across her lips as she speaks, knowing quite well that her words could be taken two different ways, and both would be the honest truth.

The Unlucky (diplomat) The deva shifts uncomfortably, the songstress's words bothering him somehow. His brow wrinkles, and his eyes constantly shift between the two women.

The Firstborn of the Gods
The elf nods. "I am Liania Nightshadow, of the Firstborn of the Gods. You need a sponsorship to see the Spirits of the Lost Tomes? I am willing to give it, but first, I have some questions of my own." She leans back a bit, removing her hat, gazing at the group through her glasses. She murmurs something under her breath, and the door swings closed, locking itself. "You will answer my questions honestly, without attempt to hide things. I am a seer; I will know if you are duplicitous. Now..." She sips her wine. "I will not ask you what questions you intend to ask the Spirits; that is for you and you alone to know. But I will ask you why you seek to speak with them."

Carmella nods. "That answer is simple, and yet complex. I seek them out for the benefit of my employers. But also inorder to find knowledge that even the gods might not know of." She smiles slyly, having spoken honestly.
