The Firstborn of the Gods
Liania nods to Carmella. "Tell me about your employers, then." She looks to the Devas. "Are these them? Why do they want to find the Spirits of the Lost Tomes?"

The Pale Songstress
Carmella considers for a moment. "To that, I can only speculate, since I can not read their minds. They seek the Spirits because I told them it would help further their cause and give them a reason to travel."
She shrugs lightly. "They want to spread good deeds, and help untarnish the reputation of some one they admire, as they believe it was unrightly tarnished to begin with."

The Firstborn of the Gods
Liania nods, considering this, pushing her glasses up a bit on her nose. "And who is this... someone?" She rises to her feet. "After all, if you cannot name this person, how can you do deeds in their name?"

The Pale Songstress
Carmella lets out a low melodic laugh. "It is easier than you think it would be. And heroic deeds are carried out in the names of others while those names are kept tight within the hero's heart."
She smiles, and makes herself comfortable sitting at the foot of the bed. "Perhaps it does not matter to those who we hope to benefit what the name of their benefactors are? But the one we are working for, he will know what we have done. And that will be enough."

The Firstborn of the Gods
Liania laughs quietly as Carmella speaks, reaching for the paper. "Tell me more of your mission, Carmella..." She begins to write on the paper slowly, almost laconically. "Tell me... is your goal to help the reputation of this secretive patron, or is it simply to do good while this patron is in your thoughts?"

The Pale Songstress
Carmella looks thoughtful for a moment before responding. "A bit of both, I believe. But I am sure for my employers that it might be a bit more of the former rather than the latter."
She shrugs almost dismissively. "Not that it matters, as long as good is being done."

The Wanderer
The Deva watches and listens as Carmella crosses words with the Sylan, stepping slowly behind the pale lady and placing a armor-plated hand on her shoulder.
"I would think that the revival of a reputation unjustly tarnished is, in itself, a good deed," He comments softly. By the tone of his voice it is evident he sincerely believes what he says.

The Unlucky (diplomat) A smile slowly creeps across the Deva's face as he relaxes on the wall. It is obvious that he is amused by the conversation, though its hard to say why. Resting his staff next to him on the wall, 'Roland' crosses his arms continues to watch the...parley.

The Firstborn of the Gods
Liania considers a moment longer, then signs the paper in a flowing, archaic Elvish script. "There." She lifts the page. "I will sponsor you to speak with the Spirits, but you must agree to two things in return." She smiles a bit. "First, you will allow me the chance to gain your trust - enough of it that you will at some point tell me just what you are working on and who it is on behalf of. Though... I have my suspicions already, and if they are accurate, you will find me a willing ally." She rises to her feet. "Second, each of the three of you owes me a favor. When I call these favors in, you will do what I need as quickly as is reasonably possible. I will promise you that I will not ask anything that will offend your sensibilities and will try not to ask for anything that will set back your goals... but I am placing my own reputation, or at least a part of it, into your hands and require this in return."

The Wanderer
The armored Deva takes a long look at the Sylan woman, then whispers something in Carmella's ear.
"These terms are acceptable. . . on the condition that the spirits reveal something useful to us. 'Gamal' and I will not owe a favor for nothing."

The Pale Songstress
Carmella considers for a long moment as she contemplates Desmond's words. She than looks at Liana, her red eyes filled with confidence.
"One condition of my own, than? Since you will be retrieving three favors for your one? If these Spirits do not live up to their fabulous reputation, than only I owe you a favor. Since I am the one asking for your aide. "
She holds her hand out, waiting for the Sylan to put the application into it, and thus sealing the deal, on Carmella's terms.

The Wanderer
A blink is 'Desmond's' only reaction to the songstress's added condition. He stands almost completely still as he watches the Sylan, a hand on Carmella's shoulder and a seemingly soft smile on his pale lips.

The Firstborn of the Gods
Liania considers these words. "If what the Spirits tell is of no use, it is not because I have done my task badly, but because you have asked bad questions." She looks to Carmella. "I am sponsoring three to enter the Chamber of Lost Tomes; I will have three favors in return. After you have visited the Spirits, return to me and tell me who found the answers... enlightening... enough to take on one or more of these favors."

The Pale Songstress
Carmella frowns softly, her hand no longer outstretched. "Oh, no no no. That will not do at all, sweet lady. You are sponsoring one to enter the Chamber of the Lost Tomes. That one just happenes to be using three vessels to do his bidding. My deal lets you have your three favors upon return."
She smiles slyly. "Just consider my 'condition' to be an insurance policy on my part. You do not know us, but neither do we know you. You will get one favor regardless. But you will not get three unless you agree."

The Wanderer
"If you wish, I will owe this favor," 'Desmond' says directly to the Sylan, his near motionless visage locked on her, "Mortality is not so much an issue for me. . . and being a seer, I assume you can track down my spirit regardless of its physical vessel. She may die," He continues, the only sign of who he's speaking of the slight motion of the hand resting on Carmella's shoulder, "Before she can return this favor. My spirit will endure the test of temporal death."
He pauses for a moment before speaking again, "I believe this would make for a more. . . secure. . . investment."
